MWFpress — Ahmed al-Sultan, better known by his nom de guerre Abu Araj, deputy commander of the Jaish al-Thuwar, the main faction of Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Thursday that US-backed SDF fighters that took part in the offensive to regain control of Raqqa, ISIS’ former de facto capital in northeastern Syria, have returned to the flashpoint city of Afrin in northern Syria to counter the Turkish Army and its Syrian proxy militias, namely Free Syrian Army (FSA).
Earlier this week, the Kurdish media outlets quoted Mr. al-Sultan that SDF will so-n establish a military council in Al Qaeda-held Idlib Province, adding that SDF won’t permit Turkish Army and its Syrian minions [FSA] to interfere in Syria’s Idlib.
Military experts have construed al-Sultan’s warnings as a prelude for an imminent SDF military action against Turkish troops in northern Idlib Province.
