MWFpress — The Lebanese Army command issued a communiqué minutes ago, declaring that ISIS’ leading commander in Lebanon has been arrested in the northern restive city of Arsal. Moustafa al-Hajiri , aka ‘Arsal’s Butcher’, is believed to be ISIS’ most prominent sympathizer in northern Lebanon.
In its written statement, Lebanese Army Intelligence Directorate said that al-Hajiri was captured following months of close surveillance and investigation.
The statement added that al-Hajiri is being moved to Beirut for further investigations and he shall soon stand for trial in the Lebanese Supreme Court for his heinous crimes against civilians and security forces alike.
Lebanese security forces declared that a large amount of ammunition and weapons have been discovered from al-Hajiri’s vehicle.
Al-Hajiri , better known by his nom de guerre ‘Abu Taghiyah’ is considered the spiritual leader of all hardline terrorists across Lebanon since the beginning of 2011 Al Qaeda-inspired rebellion in Syria.
According to Lebanese Army. al-Hajiri was responsible for supplying ISIS’ logistic needs and raising donations for other hardline terrorists in war-torn Syria.
Abu Taghiyah’s name rose to infamy when ISIS terrorists attacked a Lebanese Army post in Arsal , kidnapping 44 Lebanese servicemen and transporting them to craggy Jaroud Height , near Syria-Lebanon borders.
After Lebanese government rejected ISIS’ multi-million-dollar ransom in exchange for releasing the 44 Lebanese soldiers and refused to set free a number of imprisoned high-ranking ISIS commanders from Roumieh Prison, Abu Taghiyah reportedly ordered the murder of captive Lebanese troops.-iuvmonline
