MWFpress — Media outlets close to the Syrian opposition reported on Tuesday that a prominent rebel commander in Faylaq Al-Sham has been assassinated by al-Nusra Front, Al Qaeda’s Syria offshoot.
According to the emerging reports from northern city of Aleppo, Sami Oubeid , a high-ranking official in hardline Faylaq Al-Sham terrorist group was killed by al-Nusra Front assassins. Oubeid’s bullet-riddled body was rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors could not save him.
It appears that Oubeid’s assassination was a retaliation for his alleged role in revealing the location of a secret meeting of al-Nusra Front commanders in the town of Atarib , near Aleppo, to the Russians at Hemeimeem air base in Syria’s Latakia Province.
Russian Su-34 warplanes pounded the civilian building which al-Nusra Front leaders were reportedly holding their meeting in Atarib village, killing all of the participants.
To hide from the Russian or Syrian airstrikes, al-Nusra Front terrorists usually convene their meetings in heavily populated areas and among civilian-iuvmonline
