Hakim al-Zameli, chairman of the Iraqi Parliament’s security and defense committee, announced that Baghdad and Moscow are negotiating the purchase of the S-400 air defense system, reports Fars News.
According to RT, the Iraqi government has expressed its desire to acquire latest Russian weapons.
So far, Iraq has already concluded an agreement for the purchase of fixed-wing and rotary-wing combat aircraft worth $4 billion, as well as the purchase of armored vehicles with Russia.
The country is now negotiating the purchase of the S-400 missile defense system. “This system is very important to us and should enter Iraq in the next two years,” said Hakim al-Zameli. Source: iuvmpress
